The winner's strategy!

Welcome to Team 36-Ounces blog site for the ball tower competition during fall 2012! This first post will briefly discuss our strategy, as well as show you guys what we are hoping our machine will look like after we manufacture it.

As we found out in lecture, our strategy is apparently fairly popular among other teams this year. We elected to try and collect all of the black balls from in front of the wave fields, as well as along the incline. Our reasoning for this strategy is that the black balls are easy to get, as well as worth a ton of points! Depending on which side of the arena our machine starts on, it will either head towards the incline black balls first, or head towards the balls in front of the wave field. The reason for this split strategy has to do with our rigidly fixed arm for knocking the balls off the incline (see the pictures for better understanding). The last part of our strategy is to then use our machine to play defense after collecting and depositing as many black balls as we can. Lastly, see below for pictures of our machine!

Thanks for reading, and look for another post later today on a schedule going forward!
